National Survey of Student Engagement NSSE
The National Survey of Student Engagement, or NSSE, is a national survey sent to a sample of first‐year and senior students to determine their relationship with the academic, social, and environmental aspects of the college or university they are attending. NSEE data are used for conducting national research, comparing across institutions, and initiating improvement in individual institutions. The survey is administered annually, and the University of Missouri – Kansas City participates currently on an every third year basis. Significant changes were made to the NSSE in 2013; UMKC’s 2019 administration was the second for this updated format.

NSSE 2019 ANSWERS FROM STUDENTS
Results from NSSE can provide prospective students with insights into how they might learn and develop at a given college. To help in the college exploration process, NSSE developed A Pocket Guide to Choosing a College to provide students and parents key questions to ask during campus visits.
